Crazy Mallets
Now that I have my mallet winding machine, I was able to pursue a long-cherished wish to create a mallet for a new sound. For this first attempt, I 3D printed a mallet head as a hollow body in two halves. I filled one half with sand to achieve the desired mallet weight. I filled the other half with a small amount of rice grains. As the effect is quite gentle, you should use headphones. For a stronger effect, you could also use small hard plastic balls instead of the rice grains. All 3D data of the Schlegel winding machine is available for free download.
